DONCASTER ST LEGER 1810

The 35th winner of the St Leger, held on Monday 24th September 1810 over the 2 miles of Town Moor, was Octavian, a chestnut colt by Stripling out of a dam by Oberon, owned by the 6th Duke of Leeds. A field of 8 runners contested the race, although there were 40 subscriptions of 25 guineas each, which was worth 1000 Guineas. (Equivalent to £78,200 in 2017)
